The chateau stands on the site of a fortress from the beginning of the 13th century. From 1760 the estate was owned by Rudolf Chotek, who transferred it to his grandson Josef Taafe. His family founded and later expanded the castle park. Currently, the park consists of over 700 trees. It includes a baroque bridge over an artificial water canal, extensive meadow stands, orchards with old varieties. In the park, there is a borehole with drinking water from a depth of 40 meters, an apiary, a wooden bridge over an island and two gazebos. Since 1926, Diaconia has been providing social services, especially for seniors.
