This segmented garden on Brno’s Kamenná Street is incredibly colourful and picturesque. In the space of a few dozen square metres, it has succeeded in bringing together the main things we expect from a wild garden and what inspires us. It is filled with imaginative cultivation solutions, secluded places that are perfect to relax in, areas set aside as wilderness, plus a huge variety of cultivated species. Urban gardeners will find much to inspire them, including trellises, vertical panels, two ponds, compost, edible plants from herbs to fruit-bearing bushes, and imaginative mobile beds (made from an old children’s pram or a suitcase, for instance). The garden’s aesthetic appeal is enhanced by various artefacts from craftsmen’s workshops, made mostly from natural materials, such as wicker or earthenware.
