The Medicinal Herbs Centre cultivates and maintains the largest collection of medicinal herbs in the Czech Republic. Its garden supplements its selection with over 800 plants with highly-valued dietary properties, plus aromatic, culinary, tonic and toxic species. The garden’s main function is as a teaching facility for students and scientists at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University, whom it provides with material for research work. It also serves for educational purposes at all levels, public education and relaxation for visitors to Brno.

The long-running Exhibition of Medicinal Plants is open to everyone with an active interest in health and a healthy lifestyle. Its takes place from around the middle of June to the beginning of July, when you can view a wide selection of medicinal, tonic, dietary, culinary, aromatic and toxic plants in the beds in which they grow, where they are labelled with their name and basic information on their use. At the time of the exhibition, the garden is open to all for a voluntary admission fee.  

A guided tour, including commentary on individual plants, is available for larger groups. It must be invoiced and paid for in advance.
