The service tree is the oldest and most fertile fruit tree in Europe. Like the rowan, its fruit is very large. Even a 300-year-old tree produces over a ton of fruit. Service-tree wood is the hardest of all European woods. There is a small museum on the village square at Tvarožná Lhota. In addition to its exhibition about this precious tree, the museum houses an exhibition of photographs entered in the annual ‘Most Beautiful Service Tree’ competition, from which visitors choose the ‘Service Tree Queen’. The museum also offers information and promotional materials about the service tree and tastings and sale of service tree products and seedlings.
