Kunštát Chateau

SOUTH MORAVIA

The garden and park are integral parts of the Kunštát Chateau, which has been declared a national monument. Records kept from the 17th to the 20th century show that the original Flower Garden in Renaissance style was modified in the course of the 19th century. The park was established at the end of the 18th century.

SOUTH MORAVIA

The largest chateau park in the Czech Republic, it is composed of a formal French garden and an English garden with two ponds. The park contains several small structures, notably a Moorish waterworks, an aqueduct, a minaret and the oldest palm greenhouse in the world. A unique work of 19th-century landscape architecture. Milotice Chateau

SOUTH MORAVIA

These remarkably well-preserved formal French Baroque gardens are in perfect harmony with the surrounding landscape. The harmony is supplemented with pheasants, rose beds and orangeries with an exhibition of Moravian Baroque sculpture with floral decoration. In the heat of summer, shade-giving bowers provide pleasant seating with a view of the gardens. As well as connecting the gardens to the chateau’s pheasantry, the gardens’ symmetrical arrangement and vistas link them at the centre with a hunter’s gazebo and grotto and the

Uherčice Chateau

SOUTH MORAVIA

The chateau complex includes a Renaissance garden, Baroque and Neoclassicist modifications to the landscape and a ‘sentimental’ landscaped park. Of the many structures the garden once contained, the obelisk (currently undergoing renovation) and a romantic castle ruin (used as an observation point, renovation pending) have been preserved. There is a view of a forest park from the north side. The landscaped park has a connection with Freemasonry. Together with the landscaped parks at Dolní Rožínka, Vranov, Pern&scaron

Valtice Chateau

SOUTH MORAVIA

The park at Valtice stands in contrast to the park at Lednice – spatially dynamic, it features many elevations in the terrain and views of the landscape. Although it does not contain an abundance of species, the splendour of its composition makes a fine complement to the character of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape. Lednice-Valtice area is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The Bauer brothers, world-renowned botanical artists, worked here.
